I missed my two dogs, seeing greenery, driving my car and freedom to go out to do things instead of being locked in a base. I missed spending The Holidays with my family. I missed this holiday season for two consecutive tours in Afghanistan

Our comrades were a small unit, we spent the holiday with our own small gathering and we received care packages that included Christmas trees and lights, ornaments and we played holiday music and shared stories.

I have been in the Army for 10 years. I Enlisted when i was 17 in 2001. During my years in the military i have been deployed twice. Once to Iraq and another time to Afghanistan. And have been training for a up coming deployment. I have been married for 2 years, and my wife and I are expecting very soon.   Something I missed being away from home is fishing and hunting season. My favorite christmas tradition is cutting down the christmas tree. Overseas, We tried to have fun on Holidays, While in Iraq, I dressed up like Santa to keep the morale up for the guys.

David has had the pleasure of participating in several holiday shows at the Westchester Broadway Theatre over the years as an actor, but this year he presents a story of his own. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, a Christmas jukebox musical plays throughout December 23. David Edwards Directs as well as performs in the show he co-wrote with partner, Tony Javed.  When David was a toddler, his grandmother took him to see THE SOUND OF MUSIC on Broadway with Mary Martin. His dad still can’t believe he remembers it because he was so young, but he remembers vivid images of the show and wanting to be one of those kids on the stage. David caught the theatre bug for sure, and for years he thought all nuns were actresses.     Home For The Holidays is Co-written by Tony Javed, the score is a memorable mix of old favorites and new classics wrapped in a story of traditonal holiday themes of love and hope told for today’s audiences. A Christmas show is a great way to bring the spirit of the season into your life, so why not join in some family fun? With their soldier son hoping to get be home from Afghanistan for Christmas, daughter who is in college on the West Coast finishing final exams also preparing to come home for Christmas, and younger children preparing for their Christmas pageant the show follows the journey of a “typical” American family from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve as they surmount the challenges of modern life and, ultimately, rediscover the true meaning of the season.
